Ravo RAVAOZAFINDRASOA

PhD student in environmental science and technology. My academic journey has taken me from the University of La Réunion to the University of Montpellier, where I earned a master's degree in bioinformatics, and then to Paris-Est Créteil University (UPEC), within the Water, Environment, and Urban Systems Laboratory (LEESU). My doctoral research focuses on integrating mass spectrometry data with environmental DNA (eDNA) data, leveraging machine learning tools to enhance our understanding and prediction of water resource vulnerability to chemical pollution.

Research Project:

"Can we predict the health vulnerability of water resources by coupling chemical pressure with environmental DNA?"

This project aims to develop an innovative approach using digital and statistical tools to jointly analyze chemical fingerprints obtained from high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) and environmental DNA (eDNA) data. The primary objective is to improve our understanding of the impact of chemical pollutants on aquatic biodiversity. Additionally, this research will assess the efficiency of advanced treatment processes, such as disinfection with performic acid (PFA), used in urban wastewater treatment plants.
