Laurence Caeymaex is interested in analyzing decision-making processes in neonatal intensive care, particularly the interaction between physicians and parents. Her research also focuses on the analysis of apology statements in the context of breaking bad news related to medical care. This includes an epidemiological study of decisions and care for newborns born between 22 and 26 weeks in France, examining how adverse care-related events are disclosed to the parents of hospitalized children (describing the practices and motivations of healthcare providers), as well as a multicenter epidemiological study evaluating the effectiveness of training healthcare providers in preventing adverse events in neonatal intensive care.
