“Sequence Analysis” Workshop April 10 and 11 2025

In the framework of the “Chair of Excellence on Vulnerability and Resilience throughout the Life Course” led by Prof. Dario Spini from Swiss Centre of Expertise in Life Course Research (LIVES), Lausanne University, the EUR LIVE is pleased to announce a special workshop on 'Sequence Analysis'. This workshop, featuring Prof. Matthias Studer from University of Geneva, will take place on April 10 and 11, 2025 at UPEC premises.

The workshop is designed for a broad audience, starting with a general overview of sequence analysis in the social sciences and epidemiology, focussing on the characterization on life course trajectories.

Matthias Studer is an associate professor at the Geneva School of Social Sciences and at the LIVES Centre of the University of Geneva. His research interest include longitudinal methods, sequence analysis, and social policies. He is also one of the developers of TraMineR and maintains the WeightedCluster R library for sequence clustering.

Prerequisites: 

  • Notions on statistics and regression models.
  • Basic knowledge of the R statistical software.
